New Public Health Service Allows You to Order Birth and Death Records Online
The Beaumont Public Health Department is excited to announce they have partnered with Permitium, an online Vital Records Request Provider for citizens to be able to order birth and death certificates from the comfort of your own home through an easy online portal at https://beaumonttexas.gov/vitalrecords.
Julia Dumas, Registrar of Vital Statistics explains, “Longform Birth records for Beaumont, Texas are available from July 1943 to present and Precincts I and VI from 1932 to present. Longform birth certificates are required for passport applications and dual citizenship requests, but a short form abstract is accepted for just about everything else. If your birth occurred outside of Beaumont but within the State of Texas, you will be issued an Abstract Record, which is still a certified legal document that works for schools, driver’s license applications, insurance and social security.”
Newborn Birth Certificates are not automatically issued at the time of birth but must be requested online or through the office. Please allow 2-3 weeks for the certificate to be generated, and your application processed. Death Records are available only for individuals that died in the city of Beaumont and Precincts I and VI.
The requirements online are the same as requesting records in person – you will need to pay the designated application fee and prove you’re a qualified applicant – that you’re applying for yourself, an immediate family member, family member by marriage or adoption and upload a driver’s license, state or federal ID, military ID or passport.
Public Health Director Kenneth Coleman stated, “We are very excited to be able to offer this new service to the citizens and provide easier access to their vital records.”
