On Sunday, April 4, 2021, Beaumont Police responded to the 2600 block of Fillmore in reference to a victim of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located the gunshot victim, who was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Preliminary investigation has revealed that Jonathan Garcia (also known as Jonathan Guerra) arrived at the residence in search of the persons involved in the early morning shooting that occurred at 6035 S. MLK (El Chontes) in which four victims were shot. Garcia threatened several individuals with a firearm before firing several shots, one of which struck a victim in the chest. Garcia then fled in a vehicle while firing additional rounds at the residence. Detectives have obtained an aggravated assault warrant for Jonathan Garcia. Anyone with information on Garcia‘s whereabouts is asked to call Beaumont Police at 409–832- 1234 or Southeast Texas crimestoppers at 409 -833 -TIPS (8477). The investigations into both shootings are on-going.
