City of Beaumont Finance Department Receives Highest Audit Accolades and the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 37th Consecutive Year
Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to City of Beaumont for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2022. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting a City can receive. The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
“We are thrilled to receive this award again and want to assure residents that planning for Beaumont's future in a fiscally responsible and transparent manner is paramount to the City's success. It’s been a challenging year with the economy and inflation, but the City is taking measures to track finances more closely than ever before to ensure we continue to be good stewards of taxpayer dollars,” said Cheryl Ray, Interim Chief Financial Officer.
