Beaumont Public Health Department Wins 5 Star Award for Their Vital Statistics Registration Process
The Texas State Registrar, Tara Das, has recognized the City of Beaumont with a 5-star award for the Vital Statistics Registration Process. Led by Julia Dumas, her team worked tirelessly to ensure information security, data quality, and the best customer service to anyone requesting a birth or death certificate.
Mrs. Dumas and the Vital Statistics division had to meet and exceed the criteria set by the Department of State Health and Humans Services to receive this award.
This list includes:
- Register 96% of all records received in one business day, regardless of volume
- Ensure that records are correct and accurate
- Secure individual and sensitive information
- Show exceptional competence in current standards and training
In August, Beaumont Public Health Department launched a new online portal for citizens to order birth and death certificates from home. The program allows them to submit requests, pay, and upload proof of ID, all via https://beaumonttexas.gov/vitalrecords, without needing to come into the office.
“We are all about providing citizens easy access to healthcare solutions,” said Public Health Director Kenneth Coleman. “We’re very proud of Julia and her team.”
