City of Beaumont Names Two New Assistant City Managers
The City of Beaumont is to announce the hiring of Christopher S. Boone and Mr. June Ellis as Assistant City Managers. Mr. Boone’s title will be Assistant City Manager of Development Services, while Mr. Ellis will be Assistant City Manager of Administration.
Christopher S. Boone, AICP, has served as both Interim City Manager and Director of the Planning & Community Development for the City of Beaumont, Texas. He came to the City of Beaumont in 2006 after serving as the Public Works Director for the City of West Orange, Texas for four years and as the Deputy Director of Land Use Administration for the City of Mobile, Alabama for six years. Chris has a master's degree in Urban Planning from New York University and a bachelor's degree in History from the University of Alabama. His new role will begin November 14, 2022.
June Ellis is currently the City Administrator (City Manager) of Haskell, Texas. He has experience in Buda, Pearland, Sugar Land, Missouri City and served for 10 years in the City of Detroit, Michigan. He is certificated in Economic Development and Finance. He will begin his role here on or before January 3.
City Manager Kenneth R. Williams states on the appointments, "Both men bring a wealth of experience from various segments of the municipality. Their skill sets complement each other, and collectively, we're excited to serve the citizens in an even greater capacity."
