On Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 8:55 p.m., a BPD Patrol Unit occupied by two Officers was stopped at the red light southbound on 11th St. at Hollywood. They were struck from behind by a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Francisco Xante-Lobos (pictured below), which caused the patrol unit to strike a vehicle that was stopped at the light in front of them. The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as Xante-Lobos and was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. The two BPD Officers were treated at a local hospital for minor injuries then released. No other injuries were reported. Xante-Lobos was transported to the Jefferson County Jail and booked in for DWI 2nd.
