On Monday, May 30, 2022 at 9:25 a.m., Beaumont police responded to 3645 Stagg Dr. (J Player LLC, a game room), in reference to a Robbery in progress. When Officers arrived, the suspect was still inside the game room and was apprehended without incident. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect entered the store, displayed a firearm and demanded money from the employee. The employee was able to call 911 during the robbery and Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody. The suspect was identified as Roderick McKinney, a 30 year old Beaumont resident. McKinney was transported to the Beaumont Police Department to speak with Detectives, then transported to the Jefferson County Jail where he was charged with Aggravated Robbery, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, as well as outstanding Beaumont City Warrants.
