The Beaumont Public Library System has received the donation of a Portable InfoLoop System from the Aurora Golden Triangle Sertoma Club. The systems are used to connect patrons with hearing aids to a library staff member so that staff can communicate more efficiently. The systems are also capable of assisting those without hearing aids but have a hearing disability. It is also portable which allows expanded service in the libraries.
The first InfoLoop System has been placed at the R.C. Miller Library at 1605 Dowlen Road in Beaumont. The Aurora Golden Triangle Sertoma Club will purchase systems for all 4 of the other locations in the Library System over the next several months.
Sertoma is a national service organization committed to improving the quality of life for those at risk or impacted by hearing loss.
