Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. the Beaumont Police Department will honor life saving actions, Beaumont Police Department retirees, and welcome 14 new Beaumont Police Officers. The Ceremony will be held at the Event Centre, located in the 700 block of Crockett Street.
The following new recruits will be sworn in by Chief Singletary during an Oath of Office Ceremony:
Elisha Jones is twenty-four (24) years old. He is a graduate of Port Neches Groves High School. Elisha was previously employed at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital as an armed security guard. Since 2019, Elisha has also worked as a Youth Minister at Triumph Church in Nederland.
Benjamin Moore is a twenty-two (22) year old resident of Beaumont.
Prior to joining the Beaumont Police Department, Benjamin attended Lamar University and plans to return to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering. In 2016, Benjamin joined the Texas Army National Guard and continues to serve, as he currently holds the rank of Specialist.
Ryley Collins, twenty-four (24), is a graduate of Vidor High School. After graduation, Ryley attended Lamar Orange, where he earned an Associates Degree in Applied Science of Business Management.
Prior to attending the Police Academy, Ryley worked as a Vessel Agent in the Maritime Industry. In addition, Ryley has spent time as a children’s Pastor at his church in Vidor.
Alex Sikes, twenty-four (24) years old. In 2015, Alex graduated from Klien Oaks High School in Spring. After graduation, Alex earned his certification in Personal Training from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Along with working as a Personal Trainer, Alex worked full-time as a Loss Prevention Officer at Walmart.
Dereck Jennische, twenty-four (24), is a graduate of Orangefield High School. After graduating in 2016, Dereck joined the United States Marine Corp, where he served for the next four (4) years.
Upon receiving his Honorable Discharge in 2020, Dereck was hired by the Police Department and enrolled in the LIT Police Academy. Dereck is also currently pursuing his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice.
Nicholas Lamb, is twenty-six (26) years old. Nicholas was born and raised in Beaumont and is a graduate of Kelly High School. After high school, Nicholas enrolled in college and is currently working to earn his Bachelor’s Degree.
Prior to joining the Beaumont Police Department, Nicholas was employed by Fed Ex, as a Dangerous Goods Specialists. It was his desire to help others that brought him to apply at the Beaumont Police Department.
Mark Hall, twenty-six (26), graduated high School in Bridge City in 2015. After high school, Mark joined the Army National Guard and is currently still Active Duty. Before his employment with the Beaumont Police Department, Mark was working as an air conditioner repair technician.
Craig Murphy, twenty-three (23), grew up in Warren. After graduating high school in 2017, Craig joined the Air Force, where he would serve for the next three (3) years. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, Craig worked as a Security Guard at the Port Arthur Medical Center.
Jacolby Hatcher, is twenty-eight (28) years old. Jacolby was born and raised in Beaumont. He graduated high school from Westbrook and then pursued his education at Lamar University. In 2017, he earned his Bacherlors Degree in Criminal Justice.
Prior to being hired by Beaumont PD, Jacolby was employed as an Assistant Manager at Enterprise Rental.
John Harrell, is thirty-six (36) years old. After graduating from Silsbee High School in 2005, John joined the United States Marines. After receiving an Honorable Discharge in 2009, John began to work in a local refinery as a Process Operator. He then decided to leave that field of work and joined the Beaumont Police Department.
Eric Elliott, is twenty-seven (27) years old. In 2013, he graduated from Tomball High School. He then pursued and obtained his welding certification, which is the industry he worked in after graduation. He then spent some time driving trucks for his father’s trucking company.
Michael Tamayo, twenty-five (25), is a graduate of Vidor High School. After graduation, Michael participated in a Mission with his Church in Vidor. This mission required Michael to reside in Peru for the next two (2) years and he was able to work with the underprivileged.
Upon returning state-side, Michael joined the Marine Corps Reserves and is currently still serving. Michael’s father, Jesus and sister, Brianna are also employed with the Beaumont Police Department.
Jesus is a Sergeant and is currently assigned to the Crimes Against Persons Unit and his sister Brianna is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.
Reginald Boseman, twenty-two (22), was born and raised in Beaumont. Reginald graduated high school from Beaumont Central in 2017. Reginald continued his education at Lamar University and earned his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice in 2021. While at Lamar, Reginald played football.
Reginald’s father, Reginald Sr., was a long time employee of the Beaumont Police Department. Reginald Sr. began his career with Beaumont PD in 1985 and honorably retired in 2007.
Reginald’s sister, Autumn, is also a member of the Beaumont Police Department, as she is currently employed as a Dispatcher.
Dakota Gaines, is twenty-seven (27) years old and comes to the Beaumont Police Department from the Vidor Police Department. Dakota worked for Vidor as a Patrolman for the previous two (2) years. Prior to Vidor PD, Dakota worked one (1) year for the Lamar Police Department.
Before Dakota joined Law Enforcement, he served in the United States army and was Honorably Discharged in 2016.
