On Wednesday, June 16, 2021, Beaumont Police located and arrested, Archie Lee Harris Jr., a 41 year old Beaumont man, in the 2600 block of Hazel. Harris had four outstanding felony warrants for burglaries in the old town area of Beaumont.
Harris was arrested by the Beaumont P.D. Special Assignments Unit and transported to the station to be interviewed by Burglary detectives. During the interview, Harris confessed to committing five burglaries. Information received led back to Harris’s residence on Hazel Street, where officers located stolen property taken in the burglaries. Harris was taken to the Jefferson County Jail and booked in on the Burglary warrants and other charges may follow.

Beaumont Police Investigating Homicide- 4400 Magnolia
On Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 2:46 a.m., Beaumont Police responded to the 4400 block of Magnolia in reference to a victim of a shooting. When Officers arrived, they located the victim in the middle of the roadway suffering from gun shot wounds. Beaumont EMS arrived and pronounced the victim deceased. He has been identified as Claude McField, a 53 year old Beaumont resident.
Information obtained during the investigation described the suspect as a black male, approximately 5’10 with dreadlocks wearing all black clothing. Anyone with information related to the victim or the crime is asked to call Beaumont Police at 409-832-1234 or Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers at 409-833-TIPS (3477). The investigation is on-going.
