Downtown Plan - Crockett Square / Riverwalk

Overview: A proposed downtown waterway will connect existing buildings and attractions with proposed new features to make one continuous attraction from the waterfront to the Lake District. The 4-block canal would feature 3500 feet of promenade from Neches to Main with green spaces and landscaping to enhance the area’s natural beauty and murals and public art to add colorful visual elements. Historic architecture would be preserved and renovated to maintain and enhance the city’s rich cultural heritage, and more than ½ a mile of shaded, walkable space will be developed into an exciting, mixed-use development. Depths will vary from 20-40 feet and create a multi-level activity space for dining, boating, and other leisure activities.

Spent So Far: $134,650 for Feasibility Study

Total Estimated Cost: $113,998,600
