In addition to City leaders, staff, and Council, consultants, and partners have been involved in the downtown planning process.

Downtown Steering Committee

The Beaumont City Council established a Downtown Planning & Development Advisory Committee in late 2022. The committee is comprised of nine members, appointed by the Mayor and Council, who have a vested interest in doing business downtown. The committee continues to meet and work toward the goal of realizing a final vision of what Downtown Beaumont can become by the close of 2023.

An award-winning landscape architecture, planning, and urban design firm, their mission is to enhance the quality of life in the public realm by creating multi-benefit places for people and nature through the power of design. They believe landscape is the essential infrastructure to achieve this mission of defining the future of equitable and resilient cities. They helped spurn Houston’s major boom with mixed-use design and development of spaces like Buffalo Bayou Park and Hermann Park.

Garfield Public/Private
