Cool Off + Splash Your Way Through Beaumont on a Summer Parks Crawl

Did you know the City of Beaumont operates ten splash pads and two public pools sprinkled throughout the city (pun intended)? All are completely free and open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, so make a go-bag full of sunscreen, drinks, games, and towels to run out the door anytime you need to cool off from the Texas sun.

There are thirteen weekends in the summer season and twelve different water attractions. Whether you're headed North, South, East, or West, there is a fun, free water adventure in every corner of the city - and we're challenging you to hit them all!

Halbouty Park

Start in the very northern part of town at Halbouty Park. This hidden gem is nestled in a quiet community and has a splash pad, two playgrounds, a basketball court, and a walking trail! It's a perfect hangout spot for the whole family and provides shade and seating at the covered pavilion.

Pine Street Park

Head on down Pine Street to the Pine Street Park next for a scenic splash! This park is equipped with activities for all ages, but especially elementary-aged kiddos, thanks to the school next door. Additionally, you'll have an interactive playground, a tennis court, a covered basketball court, and covered seating pavilion. Make sure to pack a change of clothes so they can splash and play the day away.

Magnolia Swimming Pool

Our third stop on this splashy summer crawl is the Magnolia Swimming Pool (temporarily closed). Next to the Sterling Pruitt Activity Center, this is the heart and soul of the Recreation Department, and your family will enjoy every bit of your time out there! They offer swimming lessons and aquatic aerobics or head inside to cool off in the air-conditioned gym, which has a weight room, basketball court, table games, and activities. It's available for group and party rentals and is a great spot to host your next family reunion or birthday party! Pool hours are Friday through Saturday 12 to 5 pm, Sunday 12 to 6 pm, and Tuesday through Thursday 12 to 6 pm. Call 409-838-3613 for more information on available lessons and programming.

Cottonwood Park

Just a hop, skip, and a jump from Babe Zaharias Park is Cottonwood Park. This beautiful green space has a unique splash pad, which shoots water up from the ground at every turn! In addition to watery fun, there is also an interactive playground with several accessibility learning features, like basic Braille numbers and alphabet, common English-to-Spanish words and numbers, and a diagram with the American Sign Language alphabet. What better way sneak a little education into some summer fun!

Thirteen weekends, twelve locations. That's your challenge! Each of these locations offers a unique experience, but we promise that you'll make memories at every single one.
