Here at the City of Beaumont, we value our senior citizens highly! This page is your one-stop resource guide to all of the senior discounts and benefits offered to our citizens. From free garbage pickup to senior-focused exercise classes, we have something for everyone. Check out our current offerings, and stay tuned for more things added in the future!
Sterling Pruitt Activity Center

Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 8 pm; Friday, 8 am to 5 pm; Saturday 10 am to 3 pm | CLOSED Sunday
Did you know you can take free Zumba Classes at the Sterling Pruitt Activity Center? You can also work out for free in the exercise room, with specific designated times for senior citizens. Call 409-838-3613 for more information and class schedules.
Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center
6455 College Street, Beaumont, TX 77707
Monday through Thursday: 8 am to 9 pm | Friday through Saturday: 8 am to 6 pm | Sunday: 12 to 6 pm.
Play tennis at any of our outdoor tennis courts around town, or come to the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center to play tennis or the brand-new favorite, Pickleball! For more information, call 409-866-2833.
Two Hike & Bike Trails
There are two free walking trails in Beaumont, including Folsom Hike and Bike Trail in the North side of town off Major Drive, and Gulf Terrace Hike and Bike Trail off of Phelan Boulevard Both trails are free and open to the public, and are Trail Rated as Easy. They are paved, making both accessible to everyone!

Senior Citizen Utility Discounts
This three-in-one discount is available for citizens 65+ and pay their own Water, Garbage, and Sewer bill. Just fill out our Senior Citizen Discount Application (PDF) and submit a copy of your ID or go in-person to the Water Customer Service Department on the first floor of City Hall (801 Main Street) and you're in! The discount is not income driven, and will take about a month to show up on your utility bill. Only one exemption per person in a single-dwelling household.
Trash Collection Assistance
If you are unable to put your trash cans by the road each week - don't worry! Our guys in the Solid Waste Department will bring your can to the curb, empty it, and return it to your home free of charge! You will have to fill out an application to get on the roster.
FREE Mulch Available!
You can pick up FREE Mulch and compost product from the Beaumont Municipal Landfill every Saturday morning from 8 am to 1 pm. Call 409-842-4427 for more information.
FREE Water Leak Tablets
At the water treatment plant on Pine Street(1550 Pine Street), you can pick up free water leak tablets. If you suspect you have a leak in your home, such as in your toilet, just drop the tablet in and if it changes colors, you know you have a leak!
Beaumont Police Department

- Free Drug deactivation kits are available at Beaumont Police Department to properly dispose of expired prescriptions

Our in-house non-emergency helpline is available to use for free!
Just dial 3-1-1 and ask your questions or report your problem, and the correct department will be dispatched to take care of it.

The Beaumont Public Library System offers a plethora of free things for citizens to do!
- Get a free library card to check out everything from books and audiobooks to DVDs and games.
- Attend free educational classes on things like diabetes management, navigating Medicare, and more.
- Attend free social get-togethers like Spindletop Stitchers craft groups and book clubs!
- Pick up a Newsletter from any library branch to see the monthly schedule of events, upcoming speakers, and to read short story novel entries written by citizens of Beaumont!

The Lakeside Center

Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4 pm
Get a membership today for daily arts, exercise, social, and educational classes. Services are free for residents, but also available to non-residents for a nominal fee.
