Board of Adjustment

Chapter 211 of the LGC allows for the creation of a Zoning Ordinance.* 

  • Requires the establishment of a zoning board.


Section 28.02.005 of the City Code of Ordinances establishes a Board of Adjustment.

The Board of Adjustment consists of 5 Members and 4 Alternate Members.

  • Members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.

Members serve a 2-year term.

*Established a Historical Cultural Landmark Preservation Overlay District and Historical Cultural Landmark Preservation designation


Board meets every 1st Thursday to hear appeals from applicants requesting a review of a staff decision regarding enforcement, and to hear request for special exceptions, variance, and other modifications/relief from zoning requirements

Meetings are held the First Thursday of every month at 3 pm. The Chairman may call a special meeting at any time.
