Yes, the Libraries offer free eBooks and free eAudiobooks through 2 online portals: Overdrive and Cloud Library from Bibliotheca. Cloud Library is a consortium with dozens of other libraries around the State of Texas. Both have links to sign in from our website and more information.
- How do I get a library card?

Anyone living within Beaumont city limits is eligible to receive a free residential library card. Bring your Texas identification (ID) with a current address to any of the 4 circulating libraries and staff would be happy to assist. Anyone from outside the city may also get a non-resident card for a nominal fee.
- Do the libraries offer free Wi-Fi and computers?

Yes, each library offers free access to computers and Wi-Fi. Your library card is used to access the computers. Ask a staff member to help you!
- Do the Libraries offer English as a Second Language classes?

Yes, English as a Second Language Classes are offered at the Main Library in the mornings and 2 evenings a week. Please contact the Literacy Department at 409-835-7924 for a schedule of classes.
- Can I get help passing the GED at the library?

Yes! The Maurine Gray Literacy Center assists students preparing for the GED. Please call 409-835-7924 for more information and to get started studying for your GED.
